Midtjylland Karup Airport presents new domestic route
Midtjylland Karup Airport is now taking the next step in its efforts to strengthen connections to and from the central Jutland airport. In collaboration with the airline Alsie Express, the airport is establishing a new domestic route between Midtjylland Karup Airport and Copenhagen Airport.
The route is part of the development outlined in the agreement and ambitions associated with the current ownership of the airport. The desire has been to gradually strengthen the airport's role as an important regional hub.
Kristian Tvergaard, Director of Midtjylland Karup Airport, says:
"A good connection to the rest of the country means a lot for businesses, institutions, and citizens in Central Jutland. Therefore, we are pleased that we can now take a step in that direction together with Alsie Express."
Initially, the new route between Midtjylland Karup Airport and Copenhagen Airport will operate with three daily departures on all weekdays, and there will also be a single Sunday departure. This initial setup will allow both the airport and the airline to gain experience with demand and traffic on the route. These experiences will form the basis for planning the best possible solutions going forward.
"When establishing a new route, it's important to do it properly and get a good understanding of the need and usage. Therefore, we will use the upcoming period to get to know the route and learn how best to develop the connections in the future," Kristian Tvergaard elaborates.
The Danish airline Alsie Express looks forward to collaborating with Midtjylland Karup Airport and contributing to better connections to Central Jutland.

Midtjylland Karup Airport changed ownership in 2025, when the Danish family business HEARTLAND bought the airport from a number of local municipalities. Since then, the focus has been on development with the aim of creating solutions that make sense for the region in the long term. And that will continue to be the case:
"The airport has always had strong local roots. Therefore, development is also about doing it at a pace where we build something sustainable – and something that creates value for those who use the airport," Kristian Tvergaard points out.

There will be three daily departures – Monday to Friday – and one departure on Sunday evening
